Dusty Vogt, CMT #65102
I found my way to massage when seeking ways to support my loved ones in navigating chronic pain and illness. As many practitioners do, I quickly discovered that my bodywork exploration was an ongoing study of my own embodiment and relationship to the complicated idea of “health.” Giving and receiving massage has been a powerful part of my personal healing practice, and it has helped me develop an attitude of patience and care toward my own physical and mental health.
As a practitioner, I'm guided by the idea that the body is not a series of problems to be solved. I believe that context matters; our identities and the ways we interact with the world have a deep relationship to what shows up in our bodies. I bring a curious and nurturing spirit to each session, honoring the power of each body's unique wisdom. In each session, you can expect that I will deeply listen to you, centering your experience to support your needs and boundaries.
I have completed over 1,000 hours of education at the McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland, CA, centering my studies around the specific anatomical foundation of orthopedic deep tissue work and blending these techniques with the gentle, nervous system support of Craniosacral Therapy. I love thinking about the complexities of all our body/mind/emotional systems and how they intersect, and am excited to make bodywork a lifelong study. Outside of my private practice, I am excited to be part of the Wellness Program at Ability Now Bay Area offering massage & bodywork.
I am a queer, white chronically ill femme who is committed to facilitating a welcoming space for all bodies and gender expressions in my practice. I am a trauma-informed and kink aware massage therapist. An important part of my practice is to have a sliding scale available as an effort to help make bodywork more accessible to queer and trans people, people of color, disabled, neurodivergent, and chronically ill individuals, people with low incomes, and the many intersections across these identities.
